How it works
I will guide you through a series of yoga-like postures while incorporating Thai massage techniques:
- Acupressure: using fingers, knuckles, elbows, and even feet or knees in rhythmic compression along the body energy lines.
- Assisted Stretching: finding your areas of tightness and imbalance, I will gently stretch you to restore proper alignment and release muscle spasms.
- Elements of Sports Massage and Trigger Point Therapy are also incorporated for a balanced full-body soft tissue and joint “workout.”
The treatment is usually given on a special floor mat, but a massage table can be used with a modified routine, if needed or desired.
No oils are used during this treatment, making it ideal for those sensitive to skin care products and clients who want to avoid any oily residue after the massage.
The client wears a t-shirt and shorts suitable for stretching during the treatment. Think yoga clothes.
Benefits of Thai Yoga Massage
This comprehensive, full-body treatment relieves muscular tension, improves circulation and flexibility, boosts the immune system and balances the body both energetically and physically.
Originally created by Buddhist monks to prepare their bodies for a full day of sitting in meditation, Thai massage is equally useful for modern day office warriors.
