The massage therapist has the same respect as a coach in athletic circles. Modern day physiology recognizes the effect the central nervous system has on all occurring bodily functions. Simultaneously, it gives credence to receptors that are in the skin, muscles, and tendons in the spreading of various irritations. It has also fully defined the limited influence of the Swiss Massage on the human body. During a Swiss Massage (not enough) little consideration is given to the workings and functions of the musculature [of the body].
The type of massage I have created differs from the Swiss Massage in the following ways:
- The massage is deeper and stronger; the half-bending of the fingers allows me to get down to the bone, where very possible and necessary.
- The purpose of my massage is not only to redirect the lymph to the nodes and the venous blood to the heart, but to loosen existing tension knots, and to soften and stretch the vascular nerve bundles as well as muscles. Since an extended stretch of a muscle requires stability, the massage is done from the root of the limb to the periphery, in other words the opposite of what is traditional. Only on the bones and soles is it done from the periphery to the center.
- The biggest difference of my massage is that is it not purely mechanical but is dynamic and diagnostic. It is an instance in which my fingers act as eyes; they discover in tissue(s) pathological changes.
I am not refuting the benefits of a Swiss Massage as a tool for relaxation. As a result of becoming familiar with my massage, you will gain an appreciation for it, and admit that the Swiss Massage is not effective as a treatment for athletic injuries. The techniques of a Swiss Massage enhance different reflex connections between the cortex of the cerebral hemispheres with inner organs, muscles, and blood vessels, but do so only to a rather weak degree. If the massage of the major muscle groups is ignored, the body’s ability to circulate blood effectively, remove blood clots, and deliver oxygen to muscle tissues is affected. There is also an increase in oxidative processes, and metabolic rate.
During the creation of this massage I took into consideration the importance of the musculature in essential bodily functions, as well as the influence of specially chosen massage techniques on the deeper tissue. My message impacts all systems and all tissues, on the processes of oxidation, on the state of optimal arousal with an increase in stamina for an athlete and/or an individual who works often and leads an active lifestyle.
My massage serves as a serious resource that enhances the general development of the body, strengthens muscles, blood vessels, skin, and decreases fatigue. My massage is an essential remedy for quick rejuvenation after a long day or week at work, or after specific athletic performances.
